Terms & Conditions effective 08/26/2026

Thank you for choosing Holy City Officiating. Our goal is to make your wedding or elopement experience simple, personal, and stress-free. By booking or purchasing services from Holy City Officiating (“HCO”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

Terms & Conditions - the basics

1. Booking & Payment

A service is considered officially booked once HCO has received the required booking information and payment or deposit.

  • Prices are subject to change. The price displayed or quoted at the time of booking will apply to your confirmed service.

  • Any additional services, upgrades, travel fees, or requested changes may result in additional charges.

  • Payments made to HCO are for the specific service selected and are subject to the cancellation and rescheduling policies below.

  • HCO reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking when necessary due to scheduling conflicts, safety concerns, inability to provide the requested service, or circumstances beyond our control.

2. Marriage License Requirements

For services that legally solemnize a marriage in South Carolina, the couple is responsible for obtaining a valid South Carolina marriage license before the ceremony.

Unless otherwise arranged in advance:

  • The couple must have their marriage license available at the time of the ceremony.

  • HCO cannot legally perform a marriage ceremony without the required marriage license.

  • HCO is not responsible for delays, cancellation, or inability to perform a ceremony resulting from an expired, missing, incomplete, or otherwise invalid marriage license.

  • Couples are responsible for ensuring that all information provided on their marriage license is accurate.

3. Ceremony Services

HCO provides wedding officiating and ceremony services based on the package selected by the couple.

Ceremony content, length, location, and included services will depend on the package or service agreement selected.

Couples are responsible for providing accurate information needed to prepare their ceremony. Significant changes requested after ceremony preparation may require an additional fee.

HCO reserves the right to refuse to perform a ceremony if doing so would violate South Carolina law, create an unsafe situation, or conflict with the terms of the booking.

4. Elopement Services

Elopement packages may include officiating and other services specifically identified in the selected package.

Unless specifically included, the couple is responsible for:

  • Obtaining their marriage license

  • Transportation to and from the ceremony location

  • Guest arrangements

  • Permits or location fees

  • Photography, florals, décor, food, or other third-party services

Additional services may be added when available and will be charged according to current pricing.

5. Roving Wedding Chapel & Special Events

The Roving Wedding Chapel is a mobile wedding experience offered by Holy City Officiating. Event-specific offerings, locations, dates, pricing, ceremony times, and included services may vary by event.

For Roving Wedding Chapel events:

  • Couples must arrive on time for their scheduled ceremony.

  • Couples must have any required marriage license documentation available.

  • A limited grace period may be provided when stated in the event-specific booking terms.

  • Late arrivals may be moved to a later available time or the end of the ceremony schedule.

  • HCO cannot guarantee that a late couple will be accommodated if the event schedule does not allow it.

Event-specific terms provided at the time of booking will take precedence over general terms when there is a conflict.

6. Micro Weddings

Micro Wedding services are customized experiences and may include venue coordination, officiating, planning assistance, décor, or other services outlined in the couple's proposal or agreement.

Because Micro Weddings are customized, the scope of services, payment schedule, cancellation policy, and other requirements may be outlined in a separate service agreement.

The signed service agreement will govern the specific Micro Wedding booking.

7. Day-of Coordination

Day-of Coordination services are intended to provide wedding-day management and logistical support based on the services outlined in the couple's agreement.

HCO is not responsible for the performance, conduct, delays, cancellations, damages, or failures of independent vendors or third parties.

The couple remains responsible for contracts and payments with vendors hired independently of HCO.

Additional coordination hours or services requested outside the agreed scope may be subject to additional fees.

8. Wedding Planning Consultations

Planning consultations are professional guidance sessions designed to help couples make informed decisions about their wedding plans.

Consultations do not constitute legal, financial, tax, insurance, or other professional advice outside HCO's stated services.

Information and recommendations are based on the information provided by the couple and are intended for planning purposes.

9. Rescheduling

Rescheduling requests must be submitted as soon as possible.

A rescheduling fee may apply depending on the service booked, the amount of notice provided, availability, and whether additional preparation or administrative work is required.

Rescheduled services are subject to HCO's availability. A requested date is not considered confirmed until HCO confirms the new date.

Certain event, Micro Wedding, or customized bookings may have additional rescheduling requirements outlined in their service agreement.

10. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellation policies may vary depending on the service purchased.

Unless a different policy is stated in the service agreement or event-specific terms:

  • Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice may be eligible for a refund of eligible amounts paid, less any non-refundable fees.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are generally non-refundable.

  • Deposits, booking fees, customized work, or third-party expenses may be non-refundable.

  • No-shows are considered cancellations and are generally non-refundable.

For customized services and larger events, the applicable signed service agreement will govern cancellation and refund terms.

11. Delays & Client Responsibility

HCO understands that wedding days do not always go according to plan. However, clients are responsible for arriving on time and being prepared for their scheduled service.

Delays caused by the client may reduce the amount of time available for the service or require the service to be rescheduled.

HCO is not responsible for delays caused by traffic, weather, venues, vendors, guests, government offices, or other circumstances outside HCO's reasonable control.

12. Weather & Circumstances Beyond Our Control

Outdoor ceremonies and events may be affected by weather, natural disasters, emergencies, government restrictions, venue closures, illness, transportation disruptions, or other circumstances beyond HCO's control.

When reasonably possible, HCO will work with the client to determine an alternative arrangement, location, or date.

Additional costs resulting from a change in venue, date, or services may apply.

13. Third-Party Vendors & Venues

HCO may recommend or coordinate with venues and other wedding professionals. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, those vendors are independent businesses.

HCO is not responsible for the actions, omissions, availability, pricing, quality, cancellations, or performance of third-party vendors.

Clients are encouraged to review and understand all contracts entered into with third-party providers.

14. Client Conduct & Safety

HCO is committed to providing a respectful and welcoming experience for every couple and guest.

HCO reserves the right to end or refuse service when a client or guest engages in threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, violent, or unsafe behavior.

If service must be terminated because of client or guest conduct, payments may be forfeited and additional charges may apply for damages or losses caused by the client or their guests.

15. Photography, Video & Marketing

HCO may photograph or record events, ceremonies, décor, or other aspects of a service for promotional, educational, or social media purposes.

HCO will make reasonable efforts to respect requests regarding identifiable images of clients and guests.

Clients who do not wish to appear in promotional materials should notify HCO before the service begins.

16. Personal Property

Clients and guests are responsible for their personal belongings.

HCO is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property belonging to clients or guests.

17. Changes to Services

HCO may update, modify, or discontinue services, packages, pricing, policies, or availability at any time.

Changes will not affect a confirmed booking unless the change is necessary because of circumstances beyond HCO's reasonable control.

18. Limitation of Liability

Holy City Officiating will make reasonable efforts to provide services as described in the client's booking or service agreement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HCO is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or third-party losses resulting from circumstances outside HCO's reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to waive any rights or protections that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

19. Agreement to Terms

By submitting a booking, purchasing a service, submitting payment, or otherwise engaging Holy City Officiating for services, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Service-specific agreements, invoices, booking forms, and event-specific policies may contain additional terms. When applicable, those terms will apply to the specific service purchased.
